NYSC Age Group Realignment

Starting in the 2026/27 season, NYSC will form teams using the new U.S. Soccer age-group standards for teams competing in MLS Next II, Girls Academy, Girls Academy Aspire, Girls Pre-Academy, EDP, and WYSL. This means Zone 2 will move to making teams using the August 1st to July 31st cut-off dates. The change is intended to comply with US Soccer and league rules and to support the long-term growth of our players.

NYSC’s top priority remains each player's individual development pathway. We will evaluate all individuals within our zone to place them ultimately where NYSC coaches and directors feel best suits their long-term growth.
