Dr. Javier Perez, Director of Coaching
Javier is one of the few European coaches holding the UEFA PRO license and a PhD in Exercise Physiology. He holds qualifications from the Spanish and English FA and has coached for six years at Real Madrid. He also worked at the Spanish FA as part of the management team for the Master License for senior soccer coaches.
Jeff Bookman, Technical Director
Soccer is Jeff’s life. From his early days as a youth and reserve team player for Chelsea FC, the Captain of Englands U18 team, to his more than 12 years as Head Coach with Chelsea U13 Academy Teams, to Head of Chelsea FC’s International Youth Development Programs, Jeff brings a level of understanding of the game steeped in passion, experience and expertise. Jeff holds the UEFA A licence and for many years was the lead tutor for the English FA’s Level 1 and 2 courses. Jeff has global coaching experience having coached in Europe, North America, China, and Africa.
Erhardt Kapp, Director, Youth Development
Erhardt has been a highly regarded youth soccer coach in Westchester County for 15+ years. He has been the Eastern New York State ODP Coach, Region 1 Coach and won three NY State Youth Championships. An All-American at UConn, he played for the Cosmos, the 1984 US Olympic team, was a member of the US National Team from 1984-1987 and is presently a USSF Developmental Academy Scout.
Milton Gooding, Director of College Placement
Milton is the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at MIT. Coach Gooding was also the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Amherst College for over a decade. Both the MIT and Amherst teams under his leadership have competed in the NCAA Division Three Championships. Coach Gooding holds one of the highest active winning percentages in NCAA Division Three Soccer and has coached several Academic and NSCAA All-Americans.
Gooding fulfills a key role within the NYSC where he heads up our college placement initiative. Within the NYSC, academics is a major element in developing an all-around player. While at the younger ages we emphasize academics to our players, at the older age groups we Gooding plays a major role in placing our players with colleges that match their on-field and in-classroom achievements.
Mark Heffernan, President
Mark created and is the owner of Inside Soccer (www.insidesoccer.com), the world’s leading soccer coaching Web site, featuring content and coaching styles from some of the world’s most successful soccer clubs, federations, associations and professionals.
Mark is also founder of SHINE (www.shinetrust.org.uk) an educational charity based in the United Kingdom. SHINE has grown to become one of the largest educational charities operating in the UK.
