New York Soccer Club is pleased to announce the list of player placements with colleges for the coming fall. This is our first group of players that have been eligible for college placement and we are proud of their achievements. Working with our Director of College Placement, Milton Gooding, the players have been fortunate to find colleges that met their own academic and sporting goals. 93% (13) of our 14 seniors received offers to date!
The following U18s have committed to playing soccer at the following D1 and D3 colleges:
Jason Adler Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Travis Blair Wheaton College
Sam Cannon Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Josh Henderson-Jardim Kenyon College
Dylan Howie Johns Hopkins University
Sandy Leavy Lafayette College
Chris Livingston Virginia Military Institute
Kyle Murphy Clemson University
Thomas Murtagh Union College
Gustavo Trinidad Sage College
We would also like to congratulate the following boys who received some soccer offers and interest as well, but have opted to attend their “dream schools” instead:
Henry Bareiss University of Miami
Tommy Heffernan Harvard University
Kyle Spinks Northwestern University
We offer a late congratulations to Shamar Hyatt, a current U18 playing with NYSC again this spring, who graduated last year. He accepted an offer to play at University of Bridgeport a year ago and is doing very well there.
Team Manager Lydia Howie tells us that all the players and families are very excited about their decisions and attribute their good fortune to their long-standing commitment to soccer and New York Soccer Club, including U18 Coach Ken Pollard, Coach Milton Gooding and Mark and Lisa Heffernan, who formed the team in 2009. We are pleased that all of our U18s are seeing their college and/or soccer dreams come true!
